The Youth Climate Pact Challenge

My world. My action. Our planet.

Vote now for your favorite project videos until 7 October! Find them here.

Do you have an idea in the field of climate action and need support to implement it? Then join the Youth Climate Pact Challenge!

Calling all young people: we need your passion, your vision and your voice!

The Youth Climate Pact Challenge is your chance to make a difference to the green transition by connecting with others to co-create innovative youth engagement project ideas in the field of climate action. The Challenge is part of the European Climate Pact launched by the European Commission.

Interested?

Young people between the ages of 15 and 30 from across Europe are invited to take part in the Youth Climate Pact Challenge. No experience is required – from seasoned sustainability advocates to people who are taking their first step on their climate journey, you’re welcome to join the challenge.

On 29 June during the Climate Pact Day of Action, we officially kicked off the Youth Climate Pact Challenge. The workshop participants developed the first ideas for activities and projects and started working on our online platform, the European Climate Pact Community Hub.

Missed the Kick-off?

Don’t worry – you can still join the Challenge. Find a project idea to join in our Community Hub or just start a new one. Start connecting with others and create a short video presentation until September 30. There is no limit to the number of project ideas you can submit.

What´s in for me?

The best projects will be presented to Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans on October 11 and you will have the opportunity to connect with relevant stakeholders who can support the implementation of your project idea.

Register now to make sure you don’t miss this unique chance to implement your project idea, connect with others and contribute to the European Climate Pact!

I’m in! How do I start?

After the registration, you will have access to our online platform: the European Climate Pact Community Hub. Here you can either find and join existing working groups which already started preparing an idea during the kick-off workshop, or you can simply start your own group, get in touch with other participants, and start producing a short video pitch presentation. We are looking for project ideas addressing one of these four topics:

  • Support for Young Climate Pact Ambassadors

Young Climate Ambassadors play a critical role in inspiring more people to get on board, step up their climate actions and become Climate Pact Ambassadors.

  • Stepping up individual climate action

The Pact aims to encourage everyone to make climate action pledges, in part through establishing partnerships with youth organisations to attract young people’s attention to the environment and climate issues.

  • Stepping up youth involvement in climate policy

It is critical that all voices are heard in policymaking discussions. A key aim of the Pact is to provide opportunities for young people to discuss climate issues with leading decision-makers.

  • Education for climate action

How can young people learn and help others to learn about climate change? The Pact aims to encourage young people and educators to get involved in taking action on climate.
